Pecha Kucha Night
At last Saturday (31 may) is another change to get an experience in Pecha-Kucha night event.
Pecha Kucha (ペチャクチャ, ?) is a term for the sound of conversation (“chit-chat”) in japanese. Pecha Kucha Night is a presentation format in which (mostly creative) work can be easily and informally shown. The idea behind Pecha Kucha is to keep presentations concise, the interest level up and to have many presenters sharing their ideas within the course of one night.
Therefore the 20x20 Pecha Kucha format was created: each presenter is allowed a slideshow of 20 images, each shown for 1 min. This results in a total presentation time of 6 minutes 40 seconds on a stage before the next presenter is up. Presenters (and much of the audience) are usually from the design, architecture, photography, art and creative fields, but recently it has also stretched over to the business world.
This time the event is place on TCDC The emporium department store. I was arriving late because of the drupal training from kengggg, so I arrived at around 18.00 to 19.00 (the event started at 16.00). When I was there, the presenter told this is the last session on this event.
In this event, they was a cloud of people on creative, fasion, graphic designer and they had many cute girl, so it was difficult to find the available seat to join this event. I also met macroart and @ripmilla at this event.
The event is one way communitcation from presenter. The presenter will present their work in slide presentation with their style. Someone presented their experience, someone presented their campaign, someone presented the art pattern, someone presented the architecture design and someone presented the story with picture. By the way the participation had to listen only.
I like the bling campaign presentation, that will make me cry. Another good one was the story presentation and local sound of Supanburi. In this event had Yarinda Bunnarg presented her work on architecture, that use the wood as a meterial and make it to have dimension.
The weak point of this event is the one way communication. That doesn’t make the discussion between the participation and presenter. Although if we can be the empty glass, we will find many good point of this event, that we never see or interested in it before.
